Bhakti Seva Reviews

Hello,

I saw the Temple Bhajan Band at Swami Vishwananda's publish Darshan on Saturday July 5th. I was seriously blown away. You are fabulous!!

I want to purchase a couple of your CD's and would appreciate some direction. Which CD is most representative of the music that you played at the Darshan? And which CD (if any) has more mellow songs… something you can really relax to or meditate to.

Thanks!!

Brenda

Dear Sura,

I met you at the Peace thru Unity Breakfast last Saturday, I had a great time and really enjoyed your music, so, I bought a CD…as you know.

I was on my way home listening to the music and by the second song I was already there…home…I though "this is great music, I don't want to be home yet", so I took the road again and I just drove, "the day was way too beautiful to spend it indoors" I thought.  All the sudden, I pulled over the road and I found myself listening Jaya Jagannath in front of a field filled with yellow and white daisies that seemed to be dancing with the breeze to the beat of your music…I was pouring joy as I became one with them (or them with me), it was a tantric moment, one of many I had before, but never happened to me while listening to music.

Temple Bhajan Band is doing a great job !!!!, please tell the rest of the group.

Much love, Miguel Avila

Playlist - Music Reviews by Anne Williams

This is a “fun” sacred chant CD with a real laid-back island feel to the arrangements. It’s a bit like attending an open-air church, respectful but celebratory at the same time. Bhakti Seva has nine pieces: “Asato Ma,” “He Govinda,” “Jaya Jagannath,” “Om Purnam,” “Hari Haraya,” “Jaya Hanuman,” “Harer Nama,” “Hare Krishna,” and “Bhakti Seva.” The Temple Bhajan Band has produced a notable CD, one that is bound to garner much good attention.

New Review from, KPSU College Radio in Portland, OR

Temple Bhajan Band is an LA based group, formed in 1999, who performs in the Southern California area at yoga studios and special events. I find Bhakti Seva, the fifth and most recently released album, to be solid and enjoyable from start to finish. The CD is well composed and captivating, which encourages listeners to sing along – my favorite part! In my opinion the best track is "He Govinda" which features an excellent "back and forth" between female and male vocalists. The recording quality of Bhakti Seva is superior to previous albums as is the cover art – Jaya Jagannath! More only complaint is that this band does not tour enough, certainly they should consider coming to Portland, Seattle, and Vancouver (my humble request). Jaya Sri Krishna! Oh, and I love the band's motto – "Uniting the world with kirtan."

Dear Sura,

Thank you so much for your nice gift CD: Bhakti Seva - Service in Love. I like it very much. The more I listen to it, the more I like it. It is so powerful. Your each song is attractive and inspiring specially to the younger generation, to awaken their dormant love of Krishna.

In service,

Keiko B. Hon, HI
