Interfaith and Humanitarian Work

Since 1999,  the Temple Bhajan Band has been going out to the community for benefits and fundraisers to help victims of the Tsunami, Katrina, Sandy and the disaster in Haiti, raising tens of thousands of dollars.  Sura Dasa just received a "Humanitarian of the Decade" award at the International Interfaith Film Festival for bringing prasadam and chanting to the community.

Thank you so much, Sura. We loved the band.  The singing by the nice lady was so beautiful and I was amazed by how well the saxophone fit into the ensemble. We will definitely contact you in the future for other events. Thank you again!

From Dr. Gwynn Guibord, Sept. 13, 2017

Dear Sura,
It is with a full and grateful heart that I thank you and the ISKCON team for Saturday's presentation Ancient Vedic Living in The Modern World, on behalf of the Guibord Center.

The generosity of ISKCON knows no bounds. Your talk and the talk of others, the Museum presentation, the chanting, and the cherished view of the Gods. Then there was the food... what a sheer delight.

When the doors were opened to the cherished sight of the Gods it was a profound moment for me that reduced me to tears. We are one people.....

Thank you, dear friend, for a beautiful presentation

With gratitude,

The Reverend Dr. Gwynne Guibord

Dear Sura Dasa,

Thank you for sharing the gift of music and spirituality through your performance for the children of the Arts Alive Summer Camp at St. Mary Magdalen School. Your demonstration will help them form a well-rounded understanding of world music and the functions of music in different cultures and ways of life.
Your time spent us is very generous.

Hi Sura, Thanx again for contributing the food this past Friday and helping make our event such a success. We raised almost $1,000, which a generous student then matched for a total of $2,000, which Yoga Works will be matching. So in all, we will be donating approximately $2,000 each to Red Cross and Unicef.

Dear Sura, I cannot thank you enough for your generous support of our event in February (Tsunami Relief). It was so wonderful, largely thanks to the Temple Bhajan Band participation and the utterly delicious food. You are such a shining example of a karma yogi and we are so grateful! Shanti hand delivered the thousands of dollars to Thailand to people and orphans and temples in desperate need. Our effort made a big difference. I hope we meet again

Sincerely, Carol Allen
